CTTC is responsible for the textiles standardization work, and undertakes the secretariats of SAC/TC209 (National Standardization Technical Committee on Textiles), SAC/TC209/SC1 (Subcommittee on Base and Test Methods), SAC/TC209/SC4 (Subcommittee on Bast Fiber Textiles) and SAC/TC209/SC7 (Subcommittee on Industrial Textiles). Meanwhile, CTTC also undertakes China Technical Mirror Committee to ISO/TC38 (Technical Committee on Textiles), as well as the secretariats of ISO/TC38/SC2 and ISO/TC38/SC23.

CTTC is in charge of developing and revising the national standards and industry standards for textiles, and the review of standards. At the same time, it is responsible for voting on documents at all stages of the process of developing and revising international standards for textiles, and undertaking or participating in developing and revising standards in ISO/TC38.
